I created the art for There’s a Frog in My Throat! Using my computer and the software program Adobe Photoshop. This detail from page 7 shows the “autograph hound” in progress. I drew this rough sketch to get started.

In the finished illustration, he is holding his fancy pen and already has some autographs from celebrities such as “Julia Rabbits.”

I made the art in several layers in Photoshop. This top layer has the ear, nose, eye outlines, autographs, claws, and pen lines. I scanned the pen from a book of antique art.

This layer has his body, upper legs, and eye.

This bottom layer has his lower legs, the pen color, and his teeth.
